Dog Coats with Harness Built In

Oh! Hello again! It’s Namaste Arigato the chihuahua! I want to talk about dog coats with harness loops built into their design today because they’re pretty cool! I’ve been super busy over the past few months being the mascot for the Chihuahua Shop, but Mikey has gone to get some drinks for our movie time tonight and NOW’S my chance to do a little chihuahua ninja blogging about these new harness dog coats that I think are pretty cool!

I’ve been seeing my chihuahua friends lately, wearing these chihuahua harness coats that have the harness loop built right into their back! They’re pretty cool, and I’m a little jealous! Mikey likes to walk me off-leash most of the time (because I’m so good!), but I’d almost volunteer to have the leash back on me if I could be sporting one of these chihuahua harness coats! Seriously, they’re super cool: they keep us chihuahuas warm while also allowing you, the owner, to maintain control of us on the walk, when we become a little excited and all-over-the-place, hehe!

Dog coats that have a harness loop have been around for a while, I’ve noticed, but these new harness vest and specialty dog coats with harness loops built in are packing more and more style for the chihuahuas and the other toy breeds, now! I would no longer feel like a test subject of some insane science project if Mikey were to dress my up with one of these and walk me–on the contrary: I’d be wearing it with pride, methinks!

I’ve been trying to clue Mikey into the fact that I want one of these harness dog coat outfits for the winter, because I get freaking COLD up here in Canada in the winter, but I still need my long walks in order to stay calm and balanced and not lose my mind! Thankfully my owner/leader/love–Mikey–knows this, but I still don’t have one of these new dog coat with harness loop outfits, and I sure do want one!

I’ve been looking for these harness coats for dogs in the online boutiques, but they’re not always easy to find. I’ve seen a lot of dog jackets with harness holes in them, so you can leash up your dog to a harness that’s worn underneath the coat, but I see very few dog jackets with harness loops built right into the fabric of the jacket! Luckily, I have found a few of these new puppy coats with a harness…

Oddly enough, I’m not going to point you to the Chihuahua Shop today to find these harness dog coats; and that’s because as of right now, we do not carry any coats that are lined with a harness. We sell T-shirts of every kind, fleece-lined dog sweaters and sweatshirts AND chihuahua hoodies of every sort that have the harness built in, but we do not have any coats or jackets lined with harness attachments. Pomeranian Clothes for Fashionable Pom Poms!

Pomeranian clothes have never been a segment of dog fashion I’ve given much thought to. Part of that has to do with the fact that until recently, I had never even seen a pomeranian wearing little clothes for pomeranians! To me, poms were always these cute and adorable little cream poof doggies, with their fantastically poofy hair and those precious little faces. It wasn’t until I took my chihuahuas on a play date with my friend and her small army of pomeranian dogs wearing their clothes that I experienced the world of pomeranian clothing–and in full force!

I walked through the door of my friends apartment and met the pack. I was expecting the pom poms, but not the pomeranian t-shirts. Or the pomeranian costumes. And certainly not the haute couture for pomeranians! I was a more than slightly at a loss of words when I first walked in… I was so stunned!

Here are all these beautifully poofy haired dogs with their poofy faces, then with their tight little dog clothes for pomeranians on their back, squishing down the hair, and then their poofy tails and behind! They were SO cute! I finally managed to stutter a few words, but my friend had already read the expression tattooed across my face: I was some combination of humored and in awe!

It turns out that pomeranians can seriously wear their pomeranian fashion with style! I thought it would look ridiculous, but you get these cute little dogs in their pomeranian outfits and they just look absolutely adorable. And when you bring your chihuahuas over and they’re wearing their chihuahua clothes, and they’re playing with the pomeranians that are wearing their pomeranian clothes, you start to feel a bit like you’d imagine a tourist in Alice in Wonderland would feel like: it gets pretty surreal.

So for the past few days, I’ve been taking clothes over to my friend’s apartment and trying on different clothes from the Chihuahua Shop on her dogs. It turns out that medium-small size clothing works great as pomeranian clothing for her pom pom doggies, and they look super darling!

It’s almost that time of year again when the whole world–well, the fun side of the world–dresses up in Halloween costumes and has a heap of fun on October 31st. Along with the people in costumes, a LOT of people including yours truly love to dress their chihuahuas up in cute Halloween chihuahua costumes for the special, spooky day of trick or treat! And to celebrate this year, the Chihuahua Shop has just released a Halloween line of chihuahua clothing for the little dogs out there! Check them out, below!

Your small dog can come with you to your Halloween party or help you out in treating the little kids who come by and pay your house a visit for some candy this Halloween. These shirts actually come in sizes for all dogs, from XXS all the way up to XL for the bigger breeds, but chihuahuas BY FAR look the cutest in them, I have to say!

And each of these Halloween chihuahua shirt designs comes in either a T-shirt, a harness-lined T-shirt, a fleece-lined sweatshirt, or a chihuahua hoodie design, so you can choose whatever kind of chihuahua clothing that works best for your and your dog and where you live. I’m noticing that the majority of the Halloween chihuahua outfits we’re shipping up to colder countries right now like Canada and the UK are the Halloween hoodies and sweatshirts, whereas the ones that are headed for warmer places like Mexico and Africa are still mostly the Halloween T-shirts, for people and their small dogs lucky enough to be living in a warm part of the planet right now! Dog Sweaters for Small Dogs: A Comparison of The Different Kinds

There are a lot of different types of dog sweaters for small dogs today and I just want to discuss them briefly here. If you have a chihuahua or a yorkie or a bichon frise or a maltese, or any other breed of small dog AND you live in a cooler climate, it’s almost certain that you own at least a few small dog sweaters. These smaller dogs tend to shed their body heat much quicker that bigger dog dog, and so having little sweaters for small dogs is usually necessary for keeping them comfortable when they’re hanging out with you in a cold room or when out on a walk with you in the cold. The Chihuahua Shop stocks numerous styles of chihuahua sweaters, and I’m going to touch briefly on each of them here, quickly, just so you can get an idea of what’s out there and make a more informed decision the next time you’re shopping for your precious little doggie 🙂

First off is the classic wool, knit sweaters for smaller dogs. These sweaters for smaller dogs are what you’d typically think of when you think of the word “sweater”–a knit, warm, thick sweater that insulates really well and usually comes with some sort of patter on it. These small breed dog sweaters come in a variety of patterns, and in terms of all the different types of sweaters for toy dogs, these are the warmest. The Argyle small dog sweater pictured above is a popular option with chihuahua owners.

Next up are the dog hoodies for small dogs. Whether you’re looking for sweaters for chihuahuas or sweaters for yorkies, or perhaps you’re searching for bichon frise sweaters or dog sweaters for small puppies: for each of these, you can find a lot of funky, cool, fashionable little dog hoodies that look great on your smaller dog. You can find hoodies for your dog that you can customize with a personalized message, and you can purchase them with pre-designed patterns and messages that range from mildly humorous to outright hilarious. The dog hoodies for small dogs aren’t as warm as the knit sweaters for dogs, but what they lack in warmth, they make up for in style.

And lastly are the little sweaters for little dogs that are most akin to sweatshirt jumpers for smaller dogs. These are essentially the same as the dog hoodies, only they’re a bit thicker and sometimes they won’t have a hood (often they do). The overall design and materials are otherwise the same, though. And like the sweaters for tiny dogs, these sweatshirts for small doggies come in many different patterns for you to choose from.

Dog Clothes Patterns That Are Popular

Dog clothes patterns are becoming rather popular, I notice. Not only are people sewing their own chihuahua clothes with patterns for their little dogs, they’re also buying premade dog clothing that have patterns on them. The classic Argyle pattern dog clothing is an example, along with the houndstooth pattern and the balmoral patterns that I’m seeing on more an more dog clothes these days, both for chihuahuas and other small pups as well as bigger dogs this season. With so many people interested in patterned dog clothes, the Chihuahua Shop has been bringing in some more of these traditional pattern dog clothes.

You’ll find a lot of these dog clothing patterns on the chihuahua clothes at the Shop if you look around. The pink and blue Argyle pattern chihuahua dog sweaters are probably the most popular example of this patterned dog clothing I can point out right now. It seems that people love have a chihuahua clothing pattern on their dog’s back, and that patterned dog clothing in general is regaining its popularity right now, for whatever reason.

Now, if you’re looking into sewing your own dog clothes, that’s an entirely other thing, but there is a huge community of people who just that. Just searching around a few different dog clothes patterns sites, I was able to find designer dog clothes patterns to sew, to make your own dog clothing for your little pooch, yourself! Talking with a few people, it’s seems they feel that when you make your own dog clothes, you get exactly the dog outfit you’re looking for (provided you can so well!)

But going back to the prefabricated patterned dog clothing, it’s the dog sweaters with patterns that are definitely the most popular pattern dog outfits we carry.
